How Fish Cooked in Coconut Milk


Ingredients

1. Cut fish pieces - 1 kg
2. Coconut Oil - ¼ cups
3. Chopped onions - 1 cup
4. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
5. Ground garlic - ½ table spoon, Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
6. Coriander powder - 2 teaspoon
Chilly Powder - 1½ tea spoon
7. Chopped tomato pieces - ½ cup
8. Scraped Coconut - ¼ cups
Cashew nuts - 12
9. Coconut Milk from 1 cup of scraped coconut - ½ cup
10. Curd (not very sour) - ¼ cups
Ground kismis - ½ teaspoon
Salt - to taste
11. Green Chillies (split) - 6 Nos.
12. Lemon Juice - 1 teaspoon
13. Coriander leaves - ¼ cups

To Prepare:
When the oil is heated saute the onions, with turmeric powder. Then add the ground garlic, ginger, coriander powder and chilly powder and continue sauting. Cook on a low flame. Now add the tomatoes. Add a cup of water and when this boil add the fish pieces. When the fish begins to cook add the coconut, and ground cashew nuts mixed in coconut milk. When the fish is half cooked add the tenth set of ingredients along with the green chillies. When the spices and masala has cooked well with, the fish remove from, the fire and add the lemon juice. Finally, add the coriander, leaves and serve hot.
